We, as a class, were told to pick two double page spreads from the typography book we created in our first year. I chose a double page spread on the History of type (Bodoni – serif, and Helvetica – sans serif), and a Helvetica double page spread exercise based on layout.
Celeste told me to just align the text for each double page spread, as some of the alignments were slightly off and I hadn’t given enough space between the edge of the page/the image and the end of the text. I also needed to apply some letter spacing and to adjust the font size slightly.
This will now go in my portfolio – which will demonstrate layout, typography and book design.
The two print screens above are one double page spread (History of Fonts). The print screen below is the double page spread for the Helvetica exercise in Year 1.
